The Rise of a new Global Elite

Banks have helped an un-named but super-rich global elite to hide an estimated 13 to 20 trillion Pounds in untaxed offshore accounts such as the Cayman islands. The top ten banks, including UBS, Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs helped siphon of £4 trillion in 2009 alone, a rise from £1.5 trillion five years earlier. An estimated £6.3 trillion of globa assets is owned by just 0.001 of the world population - all wit their hands stuck deep in the global private banking system.

  1. What role could Trades Unionism play in the pursuit of NPP policy ? Plainly relying on persuasion and the so called "democratic" process is pretty fruitless. Would they not be a good vehicle for reclaiming pensions from the pension funds and for building links across Eurasia that are not dependent on international finance ?
